He was a brave sailor before Tamim al-Dari (RA) became a Muslim long ago. He traveled the oceans with his companions, riding tall ships through crashing waves and roaring winds.
One day, while sailing across the sea, a terrible storm struck. The waves tossed their ship like a toy, and the wind howled louder than lions. They drifted for many days and nights until finally, they reached a mysterious island.
Tamim stepped onto the shore, his heart beating fast. The island was quiet—too quiet. The trees were twisted, and the sky above felt heavy.
Suddenly, a strange creature rushed towards them! It was hairy from head to toe, so much so that they couldn’t tell its front from its back.
“I am al-Jassasah,” the creature said in a growly voice. “Come with me. Someone is waiting for you.”
Tamim and his friends followed, careful and alert. They were led to a dark cave. Inside sat a huge man, chained from head to foot. His hands were tied to his neck, and his legs were bound in iron.
Tamim and the others stepped back, their eyes wide.
“Who are you?” Tamim asked bravely.
The chained man spoke in a deep voice. “I am the Dajjal. Tell me—has the unlettered Prophet appeared in Arabia?”
Tamim replied, “Yes, he has. His name is Muhammad ﷺ, and he teaches about one God.”
The Dajjal frowned. “Soon, I will be allowed to roam the Earth… but not yet.”
Tamim and his friends were frightened, but Allah protected them. They quickly left the island, sailed home, and went straight to Madinah.
There, Tamim met Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and told him everything.
The Prophet ﷺ gathered the people and said, “Tamim has told me something that agrees with what I have told you before—about the Dajjal. He saw him with his own eyes.”
From that day on, Tamim al-Dari accepted Islam. He became a strong believer, always standing firm in faith and truth. He spent the rest of his life teaching others and praying to Allah.
